tell her how much you care.
When she pours out her heart,
dry up her tears and cry with her.
When she's had a long day,
listen to her pain.
When she says she loves you,
feel the same way.
Be there always;
tell her that she's pretty.
Surprise her with little displays of affection;
brighten her day when it's cold and dreary.
You can't change the world,
but you can put your arms around her.
She'll love you unconditionally,
if you do the exact opposite of what I've done to her.
What she deserves
is someone better.

i owe the third to last stanza to Massive Attack, although i did alter it a bit. in fact, my inspiration for this was "Protection" off the album of the same name
